Hungry Harbor - Long Beach

Extremely rude manager with a power issue. Threatened to kick us out of the restaurant for bringing in bags from local stores. He also stepped on my nieces foot and did not apologize. Will return, but not to buy anything.. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Ordered the fish (cod) and chips, fish was extremely greasy and mushy. Asked for a cup for water, was told that they don’t have fountain water, and I was told I had to buy a 25c bottle of water. A man, who I assume is the owner, gave a story of how people on Facebook would complain about the city water being brown etc. I noticed that they have a soda fountain, which I was told uses city water, but is filtered. There wasn’t much logic in why I couldn’t get a cup for water, other than that the owner is cheap and fears customers will fill a water cup with soda. Numerous amounts of signs saying no outside food or drinks. It’s either pay for a bottle of water or kick rocks. Terrible food, terrible service. Only thing this restaurant has going for it is the kitschy atmosphere.

Great food, staff, and place for relaxed lunch! We stopped in during the Kite Fest and had very good lunch! We grabbed one of the two person tables out on the sidewalk, great place to sit on a sunny day! We tried the Halibut fish and chips, it came with dried cranberry studded coleslaw, YUM!!!! The fish and fried were hot and perfectly cooked. They were generous with the tartar sauce and lemon slices. Water was only ,25 a bottle!!! There is a large menu to choose from including soft serve ice cream cones! You need to take a peek inside and see the menu, you will not be disappointed! Kid-friendliness: We saw several families there, I believe the prices and nice clean seating were a big draw for them along with good prices and large menu!
