Bidra med feedbackTwo for dinner at 530pm on a Thursday night. First ones in the restaurant, followed by 8 other tables by 630pm. One waiter covering the room. Scallop gazpacho was a salad, not a soup. Scallops we're chilled flavourless balls. Corn fritters were excellent. Catfish Meurniere was covered with walnuts for some reason? all served with spring seasonal veggies (carrots, broccoli and zucchini)...not seasonal at all? Fried chicken was okay...same veggie side. Pecan pie for dessert was passable but could have been much better. Service was attentive, but far from professional. On the whole, this should have been a much better dining experience, but it wasn't.
Atmosphere was very nice and the staff attentive, helpful and welcoming. I found the ceviche appetizer a bit odd and not as flavourful as I would have liked. The fried oysters were very nice; love oysters... The clam strips had a bit of a bitter taste in the but they were nicely tender. The jambalaya was tasty.
We finally had a chance to try Bourbon St. after it opened almost a year ago. By coincidence, it was during the Londonlicious event, and their tasting menu offered an excellent variety of items from their main menu. 4 of us enjoyed our meals very much. i know i'll be back. we hoped to sit outside but had too much sun & not enough shade. no problem, the décor & atmosphere inside was very good.
This was our first visit to the Bourbon Street Kitchen in London Ontario. Having been to New Orleans several times, we were hoping for authentic Cajun cuisine. The popcorn shrimp and Cajun shrimp Po' Boys were the real deal - juicy seafood with tasty dressing on a fresh crusty bun. As a luncheon special, they came with soup or salad for only $11.50, excellent value for the money. We would not recommend the cappuccino coffee, which tasted artificial, or the fried oyster appetizer which was over cooked to the point of being dry.
My family brought me here for Father's Day breakfast and I was eager to check this place out. The decor impressed me though it was a little sterile for resembling New Orleans, but I get it and I was happy. Our server was quick and efficient...and especially friendly to us. I was surprised because a lot of reviews say that the service here isn't top notch. We didn't find that to be the case. Our drinks were delivered quickly and our order when in instantly. My babies got to sit at the bar to watch the Chef cook our breakfast, which thrilled them. Our food was pleasant to the eye and you could see care was taken in the plating. The flavours were quite tasty but I will say that even though the Shrimp Creole was delicious, the liquid did make the Crab Cakes a tad soggy. Maybe make the Crab Cakes a bit bigger. For an instant, I felt like I was walking down Bourbon Street in New Orleans...briefly. One of my all-time fav places to visit.Would I come back here? Yes. I look forward to tasting their lunch or dinner menu. The menus look amazing but I discovered one thing missing. Fried Green Tomatoes. A staple in New Orleans!
