Bidra med feedbackGreat food and good service. We had a special starter for share- Sardines with lemon and breadcrumbs. It was cooked well and really delicious. For main course, we ordered shepherd’s pie and baked artichokes with beans and peas. They were spot on. Finally, dessert menu, we ordered a dark chocolate terrine with cherries and creme fraiche. We really love it. It was so tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will visit this place again.
Very pleasant place for a private lunch. Food was excellent, as was the service. Especially recommend the Shepherd's Pie.
Would prefer less salt in the vegetable beans with the lamb. We were also disappointed not to have the mint sauce Would have enjoyed gooseberry crumble with custard rather than clotted cream/ice cream. Cauliflower cheese and spinach dishes would be nice change for vegetarians!
Superb food as always. Have been here many times it’s been a treat on each occasion. Easily the best choice of restaurant in the Westminster area. Well worth making the short walk from the Abbey or Tate Britain if you’re in the vicinity. Or from much further away, for that matter. The staff are incredibly proficient welcoming the food is generous always well-balanced, unflashy, full of flavour prepared with a knack of getting the best out of ingredients. So good to find a place that knows what to do with the best British seasonal produce. Recognisably school of St John, but with a rather more refined touch. Excellent value too has a fine wine list, just in case you aren’t driving.
There were 4 of us having lunch. The service was very friendly and efficient. I had Cromer crab to start followed by a delicious Dover sole which was expertly filleted by our waitress. For dessert, I had a tasty fruit crumble and cream. The wine list had a good selection at a variety of prices the Chablis 1er Cru was very good. My only criticism was that the Mai Tai cocktail consisted of a tumbler full of crushed ice which soon diluted the rum etc. my fault, I should have asked for it to be mixed in a cocktail shaker with no ice in the glass. As we had the Opentable 25% discount on the total bill, it was good value for money.
