Bidra med feedbackWhat a warm experience and absolutely delicious meal I had at this homey Finsbury Park spot! Was there to visit my son who lives and studies nearby and has been a regular there since he got to London. The owner and her family are just the loveliest and the food is abundant, reasonably priced and terrific. The kofta, salads, everything was so fresh and perfectly spiced. Can’t recommend it more highly!
My husband and I were disappointed to find out that our favorite Pasta Restaurant had closed, so we were in search of a new dining spot for our Theatre Visits to the Park Theatre. Since we enjoy Lebanese food, we decided to try out My Cottage Restaurant. We arrived a bit early due to lighter-than-expected traffic and were greeted somewhat indifferently. The restaurant was narrow and deep, with slightly worn furniture and fittings. The table was sticky and the cutlery and crockery had water stains. We ordered apple juice with mint and a bottle of sparkling water, which turned out to be a small 330ml bottle of Perrier Water. For starters, we had Potato Harra and Makdous, followed by Qormeh Sabzi and Lahm Mashwi. To our surprise, the main courses arrived before the starters. The Potato Harra was flavorful, but the Qormeh Sabzi was disappointing and lacked seasoning. The Aubergine and Lamb were also underwhelming. The baklawa for dessert was tasty and well-baked. When we asked for the bill, we were informed that their card machine was not working, so we had to pay with cash. Overall, the restaurant was quirky and tired, with mediocre food and service. We felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. While the meal was not cheap at £85, it did not meet the standards of other Lebanese restaurants in London. It is unlikely that we will be returning to this restaurant.
This restaurant is the ideal spot for dining if you're catching a show at The Park Theatre, as it is conveniently located right next door. The staff is wonderful, and the menu offers a delicious variety of dishes. We will definitely be returning here the next time we attend a show at the theatre.
My son has just moved to the area so we were keen to try out some of his local eateries and came here early evening on a Saturday. Although it was quiet when we arrived it was much busier when we left. The decor and organisation of the restaurant was certainly quirky and the red brick walls gave it character. Service was swift but we were a bit disappointed to be served our starters after receiving our main courses. A very strange arrangement! My lamb chops were very good and other members of my party enjoyed their food. Most dishes had flavour although anything with chicken was a little bit on the dry side. Prices were very reasonable for London so this is a place I'd recommend.
I wanted a snack on my way home from work. Fancied traditional hummus with bread which was in the menu. I said just me to the waitress she laughed about it seemed sad which got a laugh but that’s where it stops being funny. I say ‘I just want some hummus do you serve it with bread?’ She says ‘you want me to seat you for just hummus’ I feel like I’m being told off, as I head for the door having been put in my place, ‘you don’t want it to take away?’ I say no I can order that from home and leave. Obviously never going back. Zero grade hospitality. There were lots of places she could have seated me I’d have been 15 minutes.
