It was a neat experience. I thought there would be more to the whole mystery aspect. Our service was a bit subpar. We were basically forgotten about in the middle of a shift change. The tea was lovely. The food was a prefixed meal which is fine. I however do not eat some of the ingredients so there was nothing I could do about that.

The food was great and staff were very helpful and nice!

Holmes itself is a beautiful environment. the afternoon was lacking that the scones were bland (we reported but nothing was done) the cakes were either bland or overly sweet and the sandwiches were ok. also, holmes had champagner, which was unusual for a hotel of this type of standard.

The afternoon was beautiful. the cakes and sandwiches were imaginative and super delicious. the scones were lovely fluffy. I was very disappointed, however, that the Holmes tea had promised to “go on a detective path where a mini mystery has to be solved.” in that there was a card and two lupens on our table, with a single (lame! question). the lupen glasses were not even necessary to answer the question. they were only decorated. that was a scandal!
