Bidra med feedbackI was RAVENOUS today plus I 've had a craving for Chinese so, like an overzealous stalker, camped outside of New China Kitchen today for about 10 minutes until they opened their doors for lunch. A man took my order for the #10 Lunch Special: Shrimp Scallop in Lobster Sauce $6.50 . It came with 1 veggie egg roll, 1 crab rangoon, fried rice, and a fortune cookie. In addition to that, the lady who gave me my order and rang me out threw in 2 free almond cookies, which was a great surprise! I was in and out of the door in about 10 minutes. My order was wrapped in vacuumed plastic shrink wrap to prevent spillage, and they included a fork and packets of sauce soy, duck, and mustard in the bag. The portions were huge and everything was piping hot! The egg roll came with ONLY cabbage inside meh, what 's that about? . The crab rangoon was delish. The fried rice came with only egg in it so, like the egg roll, was also just meh. The main dish had about 5 shrimp and 5 scallops atop noodles with celery and cabbage the only two veggies present in this whole dealio . The shrimp were tail OFF, and all of the seafood was cooked perfectly not rubbery and overdone like you find so often. It was enough for 2 meals, but I inhaled everything. No shame. : Despite the veggie blandness/lack of variety, it was still an overall great deal and satiated my Chinese craving... for now.
Needed a Chinese take out and this came highly recommended. We were ordering for 10 diners for take out. I had to call back a few times to change the order and they were great about it! We ended up w egg rolls (great! , dumplings, pork fried rice, chicken fried rice, cashew chicken, kung pao chicken and beef plus a few extras. All was made fresh and had an outstanding taste. I am not a huge Chinese take out fan, but will come here for future orders. Glad it is available in Lombard.
I had my eye on New China Kitchen for awhile, and when I found myself near Lombard at lunchtime, I decided to give it a shot. I was greeted by a couple of adorable kids who were sitting at a desk behind the counter working on language exercises. The woman working the counter (their mom was very friendly as well. As others have noted, this is primarily a carry out place. I would go so far as to say is is 99.5% carry out, as the chairs flanking the two tables are facing the middle of the room to better allow hungry commuters to hop to it when their orders are packed and ready. I decided to try the lunch special orange chicken. It came with fried rice, noodles, a crab rangoon and an egg roll. I had forgotten how far downtown Lombard is from my home. Being famished, I tore into the crab rangoon and egg roll in the first mile. The crab rangoon was hot and tasty mostly cream cheese, but it had the familiar taste I crave. The egg roll was filled nearly entirely with cabbage, and as a result, was a little disappointing. I was able to control myself for the rest of the trip home, so the orange chicken remained unmolested until it hit my dining room table. The portion size of the orange chicken was appropriate for the price, but it certainly isn't one of those places who portion out lunch specials using garden shovels. I kind of like places like that: More importantly, the dish was really quite good, though I had forgotten to ask them to ramp up the spice level. Thankfully, I had the industrial sized shaker of red pepper flakes nearby for just such an occasion, so wasn't forced to take a walk on the mild side. If I'm in Lombard at that time of day again, I would certainly get carryout from here again. The service was very friendly and the food was satisfying. What more could you want?
Great wait staff food Best Chinese food ever . Their delivery is fast , the food stays hot
My new go to for Chinese food! I was really surprised by this little strip mall gem. My boyfriend and I ordered schezwan vegetables and ma po tofu, for which they happily allowed us to substitute soft noodles instead of rice when we asked. We also ordered veggie egg rolls, and since we ordered so much food they offered to throw in a free crab rangoon and when we declined because we're vegetarians and don't eat fish/crab meat they gave us an extra order of veggie egg rolls instead! Everything we ordered tasted great a lot more flavorful than most Chinese places we've tried. Everything was coated in a generous amount of sauce, but it was very light and not heavy on the oil at all. It was great to find out from the owner that they use absolutely no MSG in any of their dishes and only use fresh ingredients (nothing canned). The prices were fair and the portions were HUGE. Everything comes packaged and labeled very neatly, wrapped in plastic to avoid spills on the car ride home and keep everything nice and hot. I really liked this place. I'm looking forward to trying more from them.
