Bidra med feedbackCouples, vacationing in Loretto Mexico, took a minute drive to the end of Davis Street. At the end of our drive we discovered Picazon and had the most wonderful three hour lunch ever. Diego, the owner, gave us great food, drink and warm...south of the border attention. Did I mention the most amazing view imaginable? If you are in Loreto and you don’t visit Picazon, you’re missing one of the area’s best kept secrets.
We loved our early lunch at this special restaurant which felt like forever to get to but it was worth it. The owners and son are very gracious and we loved their spirit of wanting to provide great food and service. The view was amazing...looking out on the ocean with no one around for miles. Taking a boat tour with a stop here is another way to get to this special place. Enjoy as we did!
First, our Maps and MapQuest apps kept taking us to Calle Davis in Loreto Centro, where, for obvious reasons, we couldn’t find the restaurant. It’s on Calle Davis Norte, not the Calle Davis in town. To get there, take Calle Davis north, driving past the...entrance to Desert Inn Hotel. After what seems to be a too long dusty, bumpy drive you’ll be richly rewarded. The setting is beautiful, the ambiance great, the service relaxed and personal, and the food superb. The fish special, parrot fish, grilled, was as good or better than any fish I’ve ever had (and I always order fish when dining out- which is very often). Everything was absolutely terrific. Keep in mind, La Picazon closes at pm, but a late afternoon dinner (we ate around will certainly suffice as the food is not only delicious, but served in huge servings. It’s unlikely you’ll be hungry again later.
Fantastic meal and margaritas. Enjoyed their guacamole to start then devoured scallop/shrimp with rice, Shrimp quesadillas, and parrot fish. All were amazing. Flan for dessert was the best I have had. Wonderful location right on the Sea of Cortez but not a fun road to...travel to get there. Worth the drive though!
The best meal, by far north of the city and a little hard to find, but it totally worth it. simply go to the end of calle davis and continue on the Scottish road, follow the bay on the right side. the muddles were unique and delicious. the seafood packages looked great and don't forget the caramel fish!
