Bidra med feedbackSo post another eisteddfod, we stop in at Sunnybank for dinner. My 11 yr old son was really keen to try this place as it looked clean and it sold dumplings which he loves, ticking both the boxes for him. We ordered the steam pork...dumplings, fried beef dumplings, shallot pancakes and the braised pork ribs. The dumplings were made on order by a team of neatly dressed kitchen staff who managed to get it to us in about 10 minutes. they were really good as was the shallot pancakes. The surprised was the braised pork ribs, we were expecting little dim sim size plate of pork ribs. No these were a dinner plated loaded with pork bones served with disposable gloves!! Whilst not really meaty, they had a enough and they were nice. You did however feel like Fred Flintstone facing up to dinosaur ribs or something! Would be Paleo dream meal!
We were greeted by a friendly waiter who was helpful in explaining the menu and the specials of the day. We ordered a variety of dumplings to share. They are boiled and served simply on a plate...we had a couple of pan fried ones too....I would recommend the prawn, pork and pickle and the fish dumplings....these were the boiled ones but they had a lot of flavour and went well with the many condiments that were available. They have an outdoor clay oven where they slow cook little pots of soup. We ordered the fertility soup with lungs and pears; and the pork bone and winter melon soup. For some reason the soup is not piping hot which I prefer but the taste of the pork bone soup was great with lots of meat and melon...definitely recommend. We fed 9 of us for a very reasonable price so will definitely be back again.
It took a little while to receive table service, but after ordering food it came from the kitchen very quickly in generous portions and was quite tasty.
Had some takeaway dumpling, service was fast, they were still nice and hot once we arrive home, flavoursome meals
Ring a ding you reached the king. with a little rough outer they don't let it and their lust on a dump. we recommend the pan fried pork and chinese knödel and the pork banished.
