Bidra med feedbackSaw the deal on Groupon. It's pretty good value for a pretty unique experience. We bought package B. The tea ceremony is nice even though we didn't really know what we were choosing. After the ceremony she explained that this kind of tea can't sit in hot water for more than 10 secs so to transfer into the other tea pot as she demonstrated during the ceremony. Enjoyed the tea. The dessert stand looks really pretty. The desserts were alright. I enjoyed the jelly and flower shaped bean paste thing. The mochi had ridges all around it like it came out of a cupcake liner so made me wonder if it came out of a pre packaged set (though I do often buy those and enjoy them) as well as the cookie since I also have had them from grocery stores (again, I did like it though). The pot plant looking thing is novel. Not sure what ice cream it was meant to be... It tasted kinda yoghurty though from a sign outside maybe it was meant to be Green Tea. I appreciated the jelly the most. Sitting amongst the tea ware with the traditional music... Felt like I was in ancient China having tea with royalty or something haha. Peaceful experience. The Groupon makes it good value. No problems with the booking. It's not particularly filling like a Western high tea so we did grab a pack of kimbap after from nearby Hanaro Mart. Not a place for young kids though! Heaps of fragile things so save this one to share with your partner or girlfriends! Would come again. instagram.com

KLR and I had a high tea at the Chat Tea, both sharing the dragon pearl tea. The tea was very fragrant and sweet. The lady started of our meal with a tea ceremony and brought out our sweets. We shared a green tea ice cream, green tea jelly, a sesame sweet and other jelly like powdered sweets. I really enjoyed this high tea as I have had nothing like it before and the authenticity of the service, food and tea was just what I imagine a tea service being overseas.
I bought a Groupon for a Chinese high tea at Chat Tea but I forgot about it. I quickly had to book the day before it expired but luckily they had plenty of vacancy. I'm not sure when the peak times are but when we went for a six o'clock booking we were the only people there. The room was lovely and quiet while soft music played. The furniture was beautiful and I walked around several times admiring all the teapots and accessories. We had Package C so we ordered from the third level of tea that is usually valued at $12 a cup. We decided on the Dragon Well green tea and the employee brought over the tea, the food stand and a jug of hot water and began the ceremony of making the tea. She heated the gaiwan and teapot then poured the leaves into the gaiwan and offered it to us to smell. The leaves smelled excellent dry but as she poured hot water into the bowl the leaves smelled even better. Once the first teapot was ready she left it to us and we started enjoying the treats. The stand was beautiful and had several bowls on it. There was a bowl of rockmelon which I throughly enjoyed and a small bowl of tea jelly. There were two bowls that had dough like cookies in beautiful designs that were absolutely delicious and two cakes mochi that I loved since it's one of my favourite treats. There was also a peanut cookie and green tea ice cream. All the treats were tasty and it was an excellent high tea. We got a lot of use out of the leaves and we were so relaxed from the tea and the atmosphere that we didn't want to do anything but sit and relax.
