So, this is an odd way to start a positive review. I wasn 't allowed to enter Richmaid on my last visit. Why? Because I 'd arrived TOO D**M LATE! I start with that story because of how I was turned away. It was done with such personal consideration. The pleasant young woman who was tasked with having to turn me away did so with so much empathy and concern. It was as if she knew that I 'd been driving for the past four hours. As if she knew that I had driven past a hundred other places, but was only focused on finally collapsing into a comfortable booth at Richmaid after a long, hard drive. Finally able to order my favorite comfort food and restoring my energy and spirit. I almost wanted to tell her, No, no. Don’t you worry – I 'm going to be OK. Of course, the truth is that I spent the afternoon watching stupid YouTube videos and not the clock, AND while at my residence less than two miles away! I ALWAYS arrive late, no matter where I 'm going, no matter who I 'm picking up. The point is that the lovely people who make Richmaid Restaurant tick REALLY care about you, and they care about your needs. Even when the place was already closed – you know, when you’re not really a customer. Their food is traffic, by the way I suppose I should mention that. I must also say that this young woman didn 't have a clue about who I was I was just some random guy. In my opinion, Richmaid is one of the best places I 've ever enjoyed a meal, other than at my mother’s table. I was born in the ‘50s. Much of what they serve is what some might call “Good ol’ American Food”. At least, that’s where they start – and then they do their razzle dazzle with those traditional meals. We didn’t use to eat French fried sweet potatoes in the 50s, or Waldorf Salads, or, good lord, WAFFLES AND CHICKEN! (At least not in California. But, we do now. Richmaid makes all that, and much more. Their meals are ALWAYS done to perfection. I 'm a simple guy and that 's one of the things I look for and these folks do it oh so well. Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned their fountain treats or their deserts. Well, you just need to check all that out too. If I was forced to tell you which was more important to me, I 'd always say being taken care of by nice people who were devoted to their work. You know, it’s a tough old world out there and people need a nice place to escape to. At least, that’s how I see it. Any restaurant’s menu is only my second concern. You won 't have to make that choice at Richmaid though – you always get both good food, lovely staff. They seem to have attracted some of the best people in the world to take care of their customers. In my case, it 's a pleasantly happy coincidence that the food also just happens to be top notch! I’ll be back Wheelchair accessibility: It 's a ground floor business, with very easy access from the generous parking area just steps away.
