Gran Caffe - LOCOROTONDO

On a Monday night in Oct. we were looking for a spot for dinner. Most places were closed and others said they didn 't have any more seatings. We 'd walked around town a number of times and keep seeing a small group of local men. When we told them we couldn 't find a spot to eat one of them said, follow me . He walked us down the hill, past the park to Gran caffe. We were so ready for dinner and this spot was very welcoming the minute we walked in the door. It was filled mostly with local families having pizza dinners. We too ordered pizzas, salads and wine. The pizzas were wonderful, the service was very friendly and the wine was needed! Make sure to pick up a few bakery treats from the bakery for the walk back to your stay.

Staying close by in a trulli this cafe provided us with excellent coffee and cake. They even prepared a beautiful cake for us....very friendly staff and excellent food. Nice and cheap which was refreshing from thr tourist trail.

We had dinner here one night while we were staying in the area, as it had been recommended to us by the people with whom we were staying. The café is a short walk from the more touristy parts of Locorotondo, just near the football stadium. The staff were happy to help us with menu selections- our Italian is minimal but luckily the waiter spoke quite good English and was happy to help! Our meals were delicious. We were there on a Sunday evening, and while there were not many people eating in the restaurant (too early, I suspect! there was a constant stream of local people calling in to buy selections of the very yummy-looking sweet biscuits, cakes and pastries on display. Clearly the pastry chef is very popular! If you visit Locorotondo, I'm sure you'll enjoy this café!

We went to this pizzeria recommended by friends. place near the stadium, so not in the center. homemade pancakes great, really delicious pizza with a soft and digestible paste, and final berry, homemade desserts! to all this you add the kindness of the owners. really a super recommended place!

Recommended by locals I found a good pizza ben-leaved and gouty I would never have said place outside the old town
