We live in the area and Badu is our favorite fine dining experience. Why go to Austin when you can enjoy Chef Chandler's creations? The menu has a bit of wild game mixed in with traditional steaks and seafood. Our current favorite appetizers are the elk sliders and duck diablos. We've enjoyed the duck schnitzel, elk tenderloin and filet mignon. Their wine prices are reasonable, if you search a bit. Food is outstanding. Our wait staff has been awesome every time. We especially want to single out Natalie! Ariana was very helpful setting our family up in the private dining room upstairs. Call her to make special arrangements. The refurbished estate home has a great atmosphere inside, and the back porch and fire pit area is great this time of year check out photos from their website. We'll be back!
The service today was slow, waitress didn’t know about one of the starters when asked about it or if they had Diet Coke after running out of tea. One of the brunch entrees, the French Dip, was not available out of the five on the menu. The dining room was hot, so they turned up the AC after complaining. The burgers were ok but fell apart from too much sauce. No one seemed to know what they were doing. We had been there before when it was excellent under the old owners(? before the last shut down.
Went for Father’s Day brunch and it was so great! Service was really fast and our waitress was as sweet as could be. Foodies paradise! We will be back!
First of all they have done a great job with the remodel looks wonderful and the parking is great. Looking at most of the reviews from out of town folks like Dallas and Austin it does not do this place justice. For this place to survive in our county especially downtown, they're going to have to have a better price menu. I've been there twice, The food is decent but not outstanding. Like everything new in Llano it's going to be popular. But those people from those other towns are not going to support this new restaurant. It's going to be the local clientele that are going to make or break the new place. It's going to be hard to get good help and people dedicated to make this successful. My advice is to change the menu of the more local flair keep a few items on the menu for those out of town people. The chef is doing a great job he has what he needs to make this successful but we will see you within the next 12 months. If nothing changes I give it to 12 months before the doors closed. The curse of the Badu House.
