Gran Paraiso - Llanes

Why do I say that this is the worst room I have had in my last 10 years? How would you like to be in a room with the only space to move around is 12 feet long by 6 feet wide? Where there is no window to open for fresh air in the room or the hallway? Where there is a such a low ceiling that you will hit your head 5 times in 2 days? Where you need a tiny elevator to get to the 3rd floor then walk up 15 more stairs every time you leave the room or return after going up 5 stairs to reach the elevator? Where the internet is extremely slow and cuts out once in a while and you will need to go to the lobby to use the wifi? Where the cleaning staff cleaned the room and sprayed air freshener that lingers and smells for hours before it goes away? Where it room is overpriced for the value receive? Where there is no room phone or hair dryer? This is why I mention that this is my worst room in a hotel over the last 10 years of international travel. They may have other rooms at this hotel but don’t get stuck going to the fourth floor!!! Note that I stayed there but did not eat there. Only good aspect is location is good.

The cafe of the Gran Hotel Paraiso serves the Llanes version of “Baked Alaska”, a baked ice cream desert with caramelised meringue. This is a special treat and something we look forward to each time we come to Llanes. The cafe has an old fashioned charm, with service provided on demand by means of an on-table push button device. Want to order? Press the order button. Want to pay, press the button for the bill to be brought to your table. Charmingly simple and effective!

Llanes is a very fun town. Hotel is very clean but very plain. We had a two bedroom suite with a bathroom in the middle. The bathroom was tiny and smelled of sewer gas that was my only complaint. The breakfast was amazing!

Un hotel clásico pero con todas las comodidades y con un excelente ubicación a pie del centro. Un cafetería espectacular con una chocolatería magnífica. Un clásico en tiempos modernos.

Habitaciones muy amplias!! Estamos hospedados en una de las suits y la verdad es que es una habitación muy buena y con buenas vistas! Zona medio tranquila pero se puede descansar a gusto!! Altamente recomendable
