The Monkey's Paw Tiki Lounge - Lizella

Update: (1st review was our experience at the old, upstairs location) This was a great date night experience! I loved that the space is limited for a few people at a time and you can hear the bartenders tell the history of the tiki lounge. We love to bring friends from out of state here. It’s a cool vibe.(2nd review new downstairs location) The new location has a lot of space. For me, it didn’t give the same vibe and ambience that I really enjoyed from the first location. When you walk in, you check in with the hostess, walk into the other side of the restaurant where there are chairs and tables for you and your partner or party to wait. When the light turns off, that means you can go down the stairs. There are a few round tables and extended bar seating. I am sure this is due to it becoming more popular and bigger parties but something places, in my opinion, should keep the same settings. That’s what makes it unique! But we did have a wonderful time and the libations were amazing!!!!

The Monkey's Paw is a hidden gem in Macon. The hidden, prohibition era speakeasy vibe adds to the mystery and excitement. They serve many unique and delicious mixed drinks. Most of the drinks are made with rum. I have loved every drink that I have tried. Several of the drinks cannot be found any where else. When you want to give yourself a treat, make a reservation and have a drink (or two! at the Monkey's Paw. Highly recommend.

Get reservations for a double booking! Our reservation was an hour and very fun. Highly recommend. Nice variety of drinks.
