Bidra med feedbackNice for a cup of tea but when are they going to do something about the food? Unfortunately, they never have any decent cakes, they are consistently unappetising. Nothing at all with real cream. The scone I got was inedible never again!
Appealing value for money, had the fish and chips, more like a child's portion than a portion fit for an adult. The size of the looks like it has been reduced by half its size in last few months and priced increased. Not what you would expect from John Lewis
Generally we have found this cafe preferable to the awful one at the Cheadle John Lewis which I have reviewed separately in the past. However this last visit was awful. They had sold out of most things and the 2 ladies serving were clearly overwhelmed. The scanner wasn’t working so no-one could scan their My JL cards. Half the restaurant gets roped off early (always happens) and this time we had to suffer the staff continually putting chairs on tables all around us at an absurdly slow pace. For some reason they start this around an hour before closing pathologically slowly rather than say 15 mins before at a normal pace!
Visited cafe yesterday. We had the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels. The bagel was a bit soft. Tea was OK . Very busy I assume because of the tiny cafe at the new M and S in Liverpool 1. Staff friendly as always. Only criticism is that they have the sandwiches at a separate kiosk to the cakes. The hot food is at a third kiosk.
Asked for a slice of Victoria sponge and received a half slice with the end all squashed. When I asked for it to be replaced with an new slice the woman wasn't very happy. She did replace it with another slice not an awful lot better than the first. I'm sorry I didn't just leave at that point. Order coffee and asked for two glasses of tap water.. I was met with the most disgusted look of the woman like it was such a big ask. Why don't they have a water station? Over priced very Unhappy and unfriendly staff. If customer service is not your thing. Don't work in it. Liverpool born visiting from Australia.
