Old fashioned late victoriana Gin Palace. Check out the lounge, especially the freeze over the fireplace. The back room is fantastic, wooden panels and a skylight, are quite remarkable.

Very nice view in the evening, mix of light and old building

This pub used to be a starting place for me before starting a good night in town. Called in just for old time sake and was a little disappointed with the overall feel of the place. Still a beautiful building and classic pub interior but the Guinness was £4.40 a pint and nothing special.

Beautiful Victorian building, inside and out. But it 's drab, virtually empty, with a poor beer selection and 'ambitious ' prices. No atmosphere. No welcome or other signs of friendliness from the barman. Not a patch on the Vines of the mid 1970s when I lived in Liverpool, when it was a 'must see ' pub. Needs more sympathetic and authentic ownership/ management/staff selection
