Bidra med feedbackWow. This was quite spectacular. The high tea is probably the highlight and the gluten free option makes it even better. The view is nothing short of breathtaking and oh yes, not bad tea!!<br/ <br/ Will be back and might book a room next time.
Stunning views. The musicians were wonderful and the views are stunning.<br/ Travelling up in the train is pleasant as the Blue Mountains views are very scenic.<br/ The gentleman who greeted us on arrival and walked us to the Wintergarden was delightful.<br/ Once inside, the service was pleasant, but on the slow side. We had to re request the wine and then ask again for the tea.<br/ The food was fairly slow to arrive, and acceptable beautiful to look at but less exciting in taste e.g. cheddar and chutney sandwich, lime ? macaron, and quite sugary. It was afternoon tea, but if I could have had a plate of interesting and delicious savoury sandwiches, I would have much preferred that.<br/ It's quite pricey for what it is especially because it's an extra $10 on weekends , and would be overpriced if not for the magnificent views and the music.<br/ <br/ Verdict I'd go for a special location, on a special occasion, but not often.
High tea at the Wintergarden is unlike any other experience, simply because of the spectacular view of the mountains/valley. We sat along the window so were naturally blown away by the view. We ordered the Eastern and Western high teas. The food selection was good although the Western high tea was better. Staff were really lovely and helpful.
22/01/17<br/ Had high tea here. <br/ Paid $65 a person, food wasn't anything spectacular I was expecting some stand out things for $65 but I'm not saying it wasn't worth it, because it really was. <br/ The atmosphere, the views and the cute live music made it a spectacular day! I will be going back!<br/ They don't have much selection of tea for a high tea. Literally just the regular most basic flavours. <br/ Stand out food was the raspberry macaron and the chocolate mousse cup. <br/ The scones were also nice and moist. <br/ Read some of the previous reviews of high tea but I'm assuming they've changed in the last couple of years because I was quite happy with the service and food.<br/ <br/ 12/02/17 (taken from my blog)<br/ The Hydro Majestic has beautiful character and stylish elegance. When you enter, you feel like you are visiting the Queen.<br/ In the “Winter garden” they offer High tea for a minimum of $65. I got the regular $65 high tea for my birthday. The tea selection isn’t very interesting like other places I’ve been, not much variety.<br/ The food was very average and nothing was really stand out for $65, the mousse was enjoyable and scones were nice and soft though. $65 may be quite steep for a very average high tea but the views, atmosphere (with live piano playing) and service; made it a great experience and it was lovely to just sit and enjoy it for hours.<br/ So with my first beautiful experience we decided to try their Valentine’s day event. It was a very warm day and when we stepped inside we were expecting a nice cool relief, nope maybe two degrees cooler inside. We are greeted and seated by the friendly staff where they served a complimentary beverage and rather than like last time where they had a menu and gave you time to decide what coffee or tea you wanted, she just blurted out what flavour teas they had and we were stunned because we didn’t hear what was available so just said english breakfast. It was a nice english breakfast though.<br/ This time around they had different food for the high tea and it was even more “less than average” than the regular one from last time. The corned beef sandwich was soggy, stringy corned beef that I couldn’t separate from biting so left it as the taste wasn’t that great. The eggplant sandwich tasted horrible with the sesame seeds and the last sandwich was the only one we ate; a chicken curry and egg one. I had one bite of each of the non stand out desserts as we were too hot and didn’t feel like being anymore uncomfortable. The passionfruit dessert cup was thee only one that was ok.<br/ They had a main opera performance throughout the afternoon which was very entertaining so I guess that’s where most of the $85 went.<br/ Overall this time around I would say with the huge disappointment of the food it really wasn’t worth the money at all.
Beautiful location with great service for the midday high tee, easy to get, and delicious food! we went to my partner's birthday and they brought him a special dessert plate. easy to book, see the menu and reviews on the app table! the staff was beautiful and helpful. they were for the nutritional requirements and gave an alternative, instead of leaving only objects from the plate. come back in any case!
