Bidra med feedbackI had dinner in this place. I enjoyed the food which was nice and tasty. But I mostly enjoyed the service. The staff were very friendly. There was a lovely waitress who kept smiling and was extremely polite. I absolutely loved this place.
Wearing its inspiration, clearly Hard Rock Cafe, on its sleeve, American Music Burger is part of what appears to be a chain of Portuguese restaurants selling American diner style cuisines with some local twists. I 'll be honest, actual Hard Rock Cafe is normally a franchise I don 't go for on holiday (which is no slight on it, I just tend to prefer to try local eateries) so the first few times I walked past American Music Burger, which was on the way to the city centre from my hotel, I didn 't pay it much heed but on the second last night, while exhausted, just eating something, anything, was on the agenda so I staggered in. Relatively early in the night, I may have been the only person in the place, if there were others there can 't have been many. This did mean I could take the decor in, which was semi based on an American diner, just not quite. A lot darker for a start, but featuring the kind of Americana paraphernalia you might expect more to find in a bar light up signs, tin posters etc Surprisingly, despite its obvious inspiration, musically themed decoration isn 't actually that heavy in presence. Indeed the 'music ' part of the name is more likely inspired by the tv 's, included a big screen, showing music videos. I couldn 't nail it down to a specific genre, but it certainly wasn 't your standard, drab, pop comilation. That and the life size Elvis statue at the door. Interestingly, the restaurant actually employs a walled off glass section to house smoking diners. I 'm old enough to vaguely remember dining out pre Scottish smoking ban, but as far as I recall it was just tables set aside at the other side of restaurants, this is a lot more effective in terms of blocking out passive smoking. Menu contains your standard diner style grub with various steaks, ribs and pizzas but the main event is naturally the titular burger selection. Each named after a genre based on the topping. Personally I opted for the Punk Burger, which included egg and 'Portuguese Sauce ', which my best attempt at explaining would be similair to you would get in Porto 's trademark sandwich the Francescinha (maybe the egg played a part in this) which came with a side of fries. Thoroughly enjoyed both, the burger different enough without being silly, meat cooked just nicely and the chips a nice side. Demolished this fairly quickly alongisde my drink, which all in came at a price that I 'm not certain on, but I got change of €20. Visited the bathroom on my way out which was nicely cleaned and maintained. Throughout the staff werre friendly and attentive (admittedly like I say, I was about the only one there at the time) All in I don 't really have any complaints with the place. As I say, not the kind of place I 'd normally stop by in Europe, but was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn 't say it 's worth seeking out if you are staying at the other side of the city, but if you are in one of the many hotels located nearby I 'd definitely recommend it for a quick bite
Burgers sound much more than they taste! Very friendly staff! I have eaten better hamburgers. I would not eat here again. The meat of the burgers was not really nice. Better than mcdonalds tough.
The food was ok. Good service however they didn't tell us they don't take American credit cards until we finished eating. Lucky for them we had cash.
I ordered the American Burger, and it came with a side of spinach... Hilarious. The restaurant is filled with American pop music mementos. As burgers go, it was ok, but not the best.
