Bidra med feedbackVery sweet little French restaurant where the food is delicious and home cooked. Service was spot on. We sat on the porch which has a lovely ocean view across the street, and estuary that runs along the side, where loons were diving for their dinner. Good selection of wines and beers. We had haddock Oscar and salmon, which were both fresh and skillfully prepared. Sauces were the perfect compliment to each dish. Salads were crisp and tasty, as was the warm French basket of bread. A delightful place for a romantic evening, or for an excellent family dinner.
OMG this place is great. I had the crab cakes (yum) which come with a delicious sauce and two sides (I chose cole slaw and potato croquettes, both good). He had fish and chips; the fish was thin and crispy; the fries must have been good because he didn't share. He ordered a **** Mary which came with blue cheese stuffed olives. Service was great. Food was delivered in a timely manner. For dessert we shared a creme brûlée, so good. We sat upstairs to take advantage of the view. We will definitely return before our trip ends.
Hands down the best piece of swordfish you'll have anywhere! Fresh, cocked to perfection and seasoned just right. Go blackened or grilled and use the side of secret sauce with a mischievous hint of horseradish taste. A chef's secret no doubt... It's delicious. Save room for a desert special. Last night's was a wild Maine blueberry pudding. Oh so good... Enjoy!
If you want a throwback to busy family restaurants, this is it. Many large, boisterous groups, so even though it was a dreadful Sunday night with teeming rain, there was still a (manageable) wait for a table. The restaurant is across the road from the harbor--I'm sure in good weather you could see the water, just not the night we were there. As we wanted lobster, we both got the 1 1/4 lb. special whole lobster. The green salad with the dinner was a nice surprise as it had nice touches and looked like someone put it together who actually cared. There was hot bread on the table, and along with the baked potato, we were quite stuffed at the end of the meal. But we managed to save room for dessert, and boy, are we glad we did. They were worth the calories! I had creme brulee and it had just the right amount of crunchiness on the top. The server--as busy as she was--never appeared harried and was very attentive and friendly. It had stopped raining when we left, so I didn't notice until the next day that I had left my rain jacket in the waiting area. I was unable to get back to the restaurant before leaving the area and they were kind enough to mail it back to me, so extra points for being conscientious and trusting I would repay them for the postage!
The upstairs view is beautiful. We were greeted immediately and offered several seating options. The staff was friendly. It was more pricey but well worth it. Fresh tasting food.
