Bidra med feedbackMy husband and I have eaten here a few times now, and we've had good experiences each time. The service has always been good. They deserve to be busier, without a doubt. Last time we went I had the grilled calamari to start, which was delicious. For my main, I had the steak. It was prepared as requested (rare) and sides of grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes were excellent.The interior has been re-done fairly recently in a modern style with exposed brickwork and wood. I'd say it's smart-casual. If you're hesitating, give it a try: we haven't had a bad meal there yet.
I ate here with a friend on a Saturday night, and we wondered why the place was almost empty. In fact, when we requested to sit outside the waitress had to quickly run out and pull together a table for us - we were the only ones out there, and it was not very nicely arranged. It felt like it could have used another table or so in order not to be so empty. We ordered wine, and mine was fine but my friends' tasted off. She asked how long it had been open and the waitress admitted it had been opened for a few days, and brought her a new one, which was much better.At that point we considered leaving, especially having learned the chef had left with a bad cut and had been unable to prepare any soup of the day, etc., but it was late and we were committed with our wine, so we stayed. I ordered a beet and goat cheese salad, and it was ok, although the beets were a little too firm and there wasn't much dressing on it. My friend ordered the chicken spinach linguini, but couldn't even eat it. She said it was bland and drenched in too much sauce, with overcooked noodles, and it tasted more like a peanut sauce than spicy alfredo. She had lost confidence in the menu at that point and just sat while I ate my not wonderful salad. They did take the linguini off our bill, but it still came to almost $40 for just the wine and salad. The waitress was nice though, so we tipped her anyway. We certainly won't be going there again!
I believe in more than one chance for new restaurants. I have been to this establishment on numerous occasions and each time I am not disappointed. Staff is friendly, food is good. Nice to see local beer and wine available. My favourite is the Tuesday burger and pint special. I have had breakfast lunch and dinner here and all have been good. I have a severe food allergy and they are very accommodating.
I went for lunch and was so impressed I returned for breakfast the next day. A week later I returned for dinner. All 3 meals were the best I have had.Who ever is writing this place is bad is either a competitor or has lost their mind.My wife was with me for all 3 meals and is the pickiest eater around. She as well agreed that all 3 meals were perfect 10's
Our Charcuterie board came out with old Prochutto and cheese with mould on it. I ordered mussels and they did not have a full pound so just had a few in a bowl to send out! Ordered Oysters 2 were bad. Wine was good but that was about it and we noticed we were over charge by $21.00 for the wine after we left... there was not another soul in the restaurant and I now know why! We will not be back!
