La CarabÈne - Limoux

We had a late night meal here and loved the salads. The prices were very good as well. We enjoyed the cassoulet, but the salad with duck was the best.

Had trouble deciding out of many restaurants round the square but the menu here looked good. We nearly left though as there were four of us and the waiter wouldn't let us sit at the only vacant table in the shade as it was for six. The fan salad starter was good, as was the fish main course. My husband's cheesecake dessert was better than my choice. At 15 euros it was a good meal.

Less than half hour drive from Carcassonne, La Carabene is located in the heart of very historic small town Limoux.

Staff always friendly and service good. Menus have changed since last year but still good value and choice, several burger options and more duck on menu this year with great salads as well as usual beef fish

We enjoy eating at this restaurant and I have reviewed it before. This review has a different theme. Gluten, or rather, avoiding it!This restaurant does not advertise that it provides gluten free meals, but it does and that is well worth knowing if you suffer from Coeliac Disease.We eat there with someone with this complaint and asked the owner if it was possible to choose gluten free dishes from the menu. It certainly was (almost everything could be adjusted)! and the greatest of care was taken to ensure that we all enjoyed our meal. There were little tweaks to the dishes without gluten and the waiting staff always knew which plate this was when it arrived at the table. The food was to the normal high standard.A big thank you to all at La Carabène.
