Bidra med feedbackIt was 1st time here and I absolutely loved it, the good food was fresh and hot the drinks were on point and I love how they let you make your own cocktail sauce....I love making sauces, customer service was excellent as well....def going back
The food is excellent and the price is fair for the amount of food. Crawfish were very well seasoned and the catfish almost melts in your mouth. They seem to always be busy (which just means it's really good, right? so expect a little line, though the food is served pretty quickly.
I have the fish fillet and four shrimps. Good price for the fish, two Hushpuppies and Koleslaw. The tartaric acid sauce was phenomenal. It tasted like it had a little extra dill in it and it was great. I'm usually not a fan of Tartar, but this was great. The Coleslaw tasted a little old or perhaps too creamy. Not a big fan of it. Very good overall. Sat outside in their outdoor terrace. Would come back or go to another place.
This place really just didn't do anything for me. I wasn't impressed with any of the food that we ordered, most of it was just kind of bland and tasteless. The clam chowder was the best thing that we had but was just average at best. The blackened tilapia tacos were bland, the fried crab balls uninteresting, even the cocktail sauce for the oysters was bland. 3-stars because there wasn't anything wrong with the food or the service, per se, there just wasn't anything particularly notable about it either.
The cooks are OUTSTANDING! I repeat *THE COOKS ARE OUTSTANDING*! Ordered 12 pc fried oyster dinner with fires extra crispy, two pieces of fried catfish, and a cup of clam chowder. Everything fried was cooked wonderfully, and tasted awesome! The fries were still extra crispy in the walk to the hotel after being in a styrofoam platter, inside a to go bag for a good fifteen minutes. The catfish and oysters were lightly cooked inside, but crispy on the outside and the textures all really held to the last bite. The hush puppies were a little bit chewier than I 'm accustomed to (Ohioan) but had a maize taste that gave it an Hispanic flair that was pretty good. I 'm still used to over processed soft tortilla shells, and the authentic corn flavor/taste of the ones here in the south are overpowering to me. This *barely* reminds me of that taste, but it is much lighter. The coleslaw was pretty good as far as coleslaws go. (The comments below were part of the original review) *EDIT*: I decided to call the restaurant, and speak politely to a manager. She was wonderful, and we had a civil and productive discussion. I decided to give the clam chowder a second chance on my next visit, and IT WAS TERRIFIC. I did ask before paying for them to very kindly mix the cover chowder around before serving it. Also have to say that everything else the second time around was just as good, if not better! I would order everything mentioned *except* the clam chowder. IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. The cup was really small for $5.99 and really was just clam chowder water, with literally two spoonfuls of potatoes, meat, and whatever else would be a solid in the soup. I think they put bacon and onion as well, but you could only taste the potatoes, and the six packets of saltines they give you with the chowder. Which, is not cool, because it means they know what is going on.
