Locale Blackheath - Lewisham

The other day, something strange happened to me. I took a good friend to a restaurant I had never been to before, but it was their favorite spot to eat. This friend has been to this restaurant numerous times for Christmas, drinks (maybe even drank them out of stock at times), and has eaten more meals here than they can count on two hands. They also live nearby, which probably explains at least part of their obsession. It was unusual for me, as I never go to restaurants that are favorites of friends. Why? To be honest, I always feared that I would not enjoy the experience as much as they do, and then would have to give it a negative review.

Avoid going on a Sunday evening if you're hoping to have roast, as they always run out and the waitress forgets to mention it. The liver dish is best ordered medium rare.

The bar at this restaurant is fantastic, as are the bar snacks. However, my experience at the actual restaurant was mixed. I enjoyed some meals like the pasta and steak, but others were disappointing, like the weak Sunday roast. The service also varied depending on the day. Overall, I would suggest sticking to the bar.
