The Royal Oak - Lewes

Okay, so I'll say, is one of the best experiences I had in a British establishment. fried jackfruit was from this world. the risotto with minze n pea risotto was finger licking and the cajun huhn wet on the inside. also the personal and the owner chef were enthusiastic people. when they are in lewes, they do not go without having a drink and having a meal here.

Really nice decor, friendly staff and a beautiful little beer garden that gets the sun. we had drinks and eating on a Sunday afternoon.

Exceptional. everything was right, the atmosphere, service, friendly, tasty eating, good prices. if only everyone pub could get the balance right, just like the royal oak. good work.

Had a delicious chickenburger (serious, one of the best I ever had! , good selection of be on tap, leffe ( bottle was offered with the right Leffe-Külice, which apparently really complements the aroma, aroma and the entire drink experience as a whole I then have a few fantastic live music gigs (babyeleanore, micheal baker in their top floor, ran from the fine people of hilltop sessions. I think they run it out there (and lee it out regularly!

Really lovely pub that looks like it has undergone a fairly recent and very successful refurb. I only stopped in for a pint on my way to the station but it was a great place to pass half an hour and I'll definitely be back with family or friends for a longer visit soon.
