The best hungry horse I have ever been to. went late on a Sunday night, so the place was practically empty, the staff were friendly and polite, and the food was out of this world so fresh and hot. I know the hungry horse is a Hungry horse; however, this place was perfect. Nothing to fault will be back soon. Keep up the amazing work all :
Food was good, service pretty good, lack of staff at the bar but that's a sign of the times, in our covid world. Overall quite happy and for a quick meal at reasonable price I would use again. Not the pubs fault but the pair of idiots sat behind us, who shared their meal with someone on facetime, on load speaker, Really!...... Get a life! And ironically hardly spoke a word to each other.
As soon as we reached the door, we was welcomed. A manager (I didn 't realise at the time) complimented our sons wheelchair decals and struck up a conversation. Only after 10 minutes, he announced he was a manager, he was ever so welcoming to our family and told us of the fun events he had planned for the month. One of the servers (Dan L) had an amazing, colourful personality, which delighted our children who exclaimed that he was so fun and kind! . And he was, he effortlessly made us feel comfortable, which I feel is very important, there is nothing worse than dreading the next table visit from an awkward server. The bar staff were also very welcoming and dealt with our order professionally, and watching the staff interact showed they all enjoy their work environment and genuinely got on. The drinks (I love that they do slush drinks) and food is high quality pub food/drink. But it might be hard to choose as there is a range of deliously sounding food on the menu. What stood out to me is the children 's menu definitely goes beyond. Not just your standard of nuggets, fish fingers or sausages, but a whole variety, showing that the establishment really care for families. The only thing I would say is a disappointment, is the lack of entertainment for children. The manager is obviously putting effort into this, with events and the competition that was running on our visit, but there used to be a play area in the garden, which has now vanished. My own children enjoyed the area and was gutted to see it gone. Would love to see that area rebuilt, so a real pub garden spirit, in the warm summer evenings, can be restored.
Really pleasantly surprised at how good this Hungry Horse pub was. Previous experience of the brand was not that good so was not sure what to expect. Staff were lovely and food was excellent. Will be back if we are here again.
