Maison d'Artemis is a delightful little place to stop for coffee and delicious things that are probably bad for you, but who cares about that? You get a very friendly welcome. Our first attempt to visit during a very cold January trip to Lesparre was a failure. Electricity was out in the area because a storm had taken down some power lines. The staff were apologetic that they could not make us coffee, but we invited to sit inside for a while to warm up. We went back later in the week for some excellent coffee and various nibbly bits, some of which are available to take away. Just a great place!
This is a small restaurant at the back of a very nice coffee and tea shop. The meals are freshly made and mostly vegetarian based. They are made with skill and love and they were a pleasure to eat. Looks like there is a small outdoor area at the back to eat in during the summer. An interesting place to eat especially if you are looking for a lighter meal out of the ordinary for this area of France.
The pastries we purchased here were amazing. The pain de chocolate was filled with pastry cream which elevated an great pastry to another level. The only downside is that one cannot get coffee to accompany the treats and there are only some picnic tables outside to sit.
Beautiful artisan shop and café with its own coffee roastery. Simple menu, delicious quiche and lovely staff. Not much on offer for kids if they’re fussy (not really a shop for kids! Lots of fragile, expensive home and kitchen items) but the staff are very welcoming. Kids were very happy with their milkshakes.
