La Peau de Vache - Les Gets

Not sure why this is so low in Les Gets. It is always busy, very friendly staff and the food is great. A great cow-theme-decor, too. I recommend this place very Moo-ch.

Okay, so you have to cook your own food for the sheer amount of meat that you are worth it! If you get the chance to have their version of Sticky Toffee Pudding, OMG the best pudding of the whole week!!

All chalet catering give staff Wednesday off and guests need to make own arrangements, our rep recommended this restaurant. Smell of cooked cheese was off putting when you walked in but did not reflect quality of food we ate. Three had tariflette which was excellent,...two a mixed dish with meat to grill on bbq and I had raclette. I was disappointed one large potato and one pan to put under grill which was a bit tricky to juggle but other food was good. Room got very smoky with the table BBqs smoking, not good for asthmatics.

This became our local post skiing/boarding venue. It's right near the bottom of the Chavannes lifts, so you don't have to drag your weary legs very far before you can rest up with a nice vin chaud. We were very cordially welcomed by the people running...the bar by the end of the week, they were able to second guess what drinks we'd all be ordering. We didn't eat here, but they do do food as well.

We stumbled upon list restaurant on our first night, and it was quite a find. It's a small place with good character and friendly staff. My wife and son had a nice piece of gammon, and I had the tartiflettte. Both were very nice and...worthy of a 4 out of 5 rating. However we should have had the cook your own BBQ meat. It looked superb. Next time we will!
