Café-Restaurant de la Place

I spent an unplanned 4 days in Les Brenets and when I discovered Cafe de la Place on my 2nd day, I returned every day! Sometimes twice a day I was always greeted with a big smile and “Bonjour!” by Isabelle and the local customers. Even during lunch I could always find a place in the bar. But when a table was cleared in the dining room, I was notified and offered seating. This is not common, because another café in the city has turned me away because I had no lunch (also from the bar). The Café Restaurant de la Place is in family business. Not only is the setting a warm, cave style, but the mind is also very warm and welcoming. A few employees speak English! (Another rarity in Les Brenets). I received many local recommendations that led me to discover the watch museum! There are Wi-Fi, but not many sockets to load my phone. You accept credit card and are open on Sundays and Mondays. The apple crumb was perfect! Just the right balance of crust and filling. It was not too sweet and the weak dust of powder sugar smell on my lips about 5 minutes after the last bite. It was excellent. Thanks for your hospitality!

The service was impeccable, I have to say. The steak was a bit hard, and the fish I ordered was too small so I was hungry. The taste was ok, nothing unforgettable. The fries that came with Steak were not crispy at all, although it looked crispy. The best part of the meal was Café-Gourmand, everything on the plate was very good, the coffee was also very good.

Wir hatten ein wunderbares Mittagessen in diesem Restaurant. Obwohl wir zu spät kamen, stimmte die Küche freundlicherweise zu, ein kurzes Menü anzubieten. Wir hatten zwei ausgezeichnete Steaks Tartar. Freundlicher und kundenorientierter Service. Toller Kaffee auch.

Kann mich den Vorkommentatoren nur anschliessen. Ein Juwel in der Gegend. Innen modern aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet, draussen gemütliche Sonnenterasse. Regionale Spezialitäten, sehr lecker und sehr einladend angerichtet. Mein Cheval war wie bestellt perfekt à point. Guter Wein. Sehr netter Chef.

Les Brenets ist rar an Restaurants, so war das La Place eine neue Entdeckung für mich. Mitten im Städtchen. Regionale Spezialitäten, sehr lecker und sehr einladend angerichtet. Der Preis aber sicher auf der teuren Seite.
