Zeche: 29 € General: Sappho near the Leipzig city centre offers a Greek-Italian cuisine in a very generous environment worth a visit. After a long time I went back to Sappho on 02.12.2014. For the style and ambience of the Sappho, please read my review from 06.10.2013 in RK. Also the homepage of the Sappho gives a very good impression and holds the maps for reading [here link] As far as the main food is concerned, I was not fully convinced of the kitchen performance, but I consider my recommendation to be the Sappho. I see the price-performance ratio at four stars. Service: In the early evening there was a funny women's round in the last trains, surrounded and covered by Monika and her supporter. Nevertheless, isolated early guests were served attentively. Monika takes care of her guests in a very pleasant and natural way; also their helpers very friendly. Served at reasonable intervals, the drinks quickly came to the table. Finally, Monika donated an ice-cold ouzo. The beverage prices are favorable: 0.25 l of Pils come to € 1.90 0.3 2.28, the 0.75 l bottle of water costs € 4.60 and the open wines start at € 3.50 for 0.2 l. Food: From the house there is a basket with several slices of slightly warm bar bread and a small bowl with sheep cheese cubes in olive oil and with oregano. It's a solid and strong sheep's cheese as I prefer. So I was very happy. With the classic Tarama 3,80 € and Chtipiti 4,20 € it went well, three balls each. Chtipiti also made of good sheep cheese and with noticeable sharpness. Both appetizers can be found in the upper third of the competition. Then the mixed grill plate with Gyros, Souvlaki and Souzuki €10,80. On the plate in the form of a made rice with a light spinach note and a bowl with creamy and mild tsatsiki. The meat content is very clear and far from a meat mountain. The grilled areas are well seasoned with oregano notes. The Souvlaki slightly rustic and delicate and thus convincing. The frying balls too much grilled. The Gyros shined, even on the cut side, after fat, which can only be explained by a pan stay. Only the Souvlaki convinces. The additional salad consisted predominantly of not very esteemed aleaf and was produced only discretely. For dinner this time only usually three stars 3,25 . On tables a pepper mill, a simple salt shaker and balsamico vinegar and oil. Ambience: The restaurant is very spacious in the back area and there is plenty of space on the tables and in between. Due to the warm colors, the room does not seem unpleasant despite the high ceilings and its size. On the tables white tablecloths and bright runners. The Sappho is not a blue-white smell and Greek folklore comes only from the speakers. Cleanliness: Nothing to complain.
Great eating with a beautiful outdoor area. I ordered the pasta carbonara and it came with brot and a delicious feta and olive oil dip. the personal was also really.
If you don't feel well here, you should put your feet under your own kitchen table. Unobtrusively attentive, always there when you need it. Very good advice on food questions, but also the offer of wines is not to be despised. You always feel welcome here and as a guest with friends!
