Bidra med feedbackLocation: 5min from Stuttgart Airport, 20min from Stuttgart Train Station Type: Beer Garden and Restaurant Weary from the daily journey, and in the need of comfort food, I stumbled on a light peculiarity: A Bavarian beer garden in the heart of Swabia. Idyllic surroundings opposite the village church. Compliant, friendly staff. A menu full of stars of both regional cuisine, supported by an excellent selection of Paulaner caught beers from Munich. I had the ultimate German combo: sour salad with roasted potatoes, just because I wasn't so hungry. I bring my German mates for the next time for the classics: mules, onion roasts and pigshaxe.
We went here for dinner as it was close to our hotel and was well rated on Google and Yelp. I'm glad we went. Before going into the restaurant, I really liked how picturesque the area was being located in a chuch square (hence the name -am Kirchplatz). When we went in, they asked whether we had a reservation. My group did not, but they kindly setup a high-top table fo us. I ordered the schnitzel with spatzle. It came out fairly quick (10 minutes). It was very good. A large, perfectly cooked and crispy schnitzel with a generous portion of spatzle with just the right amount of gravy. Simple delicious food. The staff are freindly and efficient, and the atmosphere is exactly what you expect in a tavern. Lots of happy people drinking, socializing and having a good time. Overall, a place with great food and great atmosphere. I would come back if I was staying in the area again.
There is nothing like a delicious Sunday roast, especially on a cold winter day. I came here with a friend as we wanted to eat a German food for a change. The decor was original and secret. The service was very good. Meals were very tasty and were healthy portions. I started soup with the mouthpieces. I was impressed by the number of raviolis in a small bowl. My friend tried a little salad. For the main, I have a perfectly boiled two-belt roast or onion roasted beef steak in engraving with roasted potatoes with bacon bits. My friend had a very big carving with which he took half home. The two German Paulaner beers were great to wash a flour. Not the best German food, but very good!
I visited this restaurant 5 times now, the carvings are amazing. During my last visit I had the roasted beef with onions... amazing quality
