This cozy pub located next to the canal was a pleasant surprise for us. As vegans, we were worried about only finding the typical frozen veg patty, but to our delight, they had a variety of freshly-made vegan options that all sounded fantastic. We started our meal with red pepper hummus and warm flatbread, which was delicious. The vegan pot pies had a crispy, freshly-baked crust and were accompanied by the best chips we've had in months, as well as a side of green beans, broccoli, peas, and a pot of gravy. The staff was friendly, and the service was excellent. We even had the chance to speak to the chef, who seemed genuinely pleased with our praise for the food. The manager was also very kind and seemed grateful for our feedback on the vegan selections. We were too full to try the vegan desserts, but they sounded intriguing. Overall, we highly recommend this pub, especially for vegan options. Our experience was wonderful, even on a rainy day. The price per person was around £20-£30, and we would rate the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect 5 out of 5. Don't miss out on the chips!
The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We dined in the bar but were also offered a table in the restaurant. It was a great way to spend a few hours watching the canal boats pass through the locks. The average price per person was £50-£60.
