Bidra med feedbackWe've been ordering take-out from Great China since 2007 after moving to Lansdowne Town Center. They've changed management a few times, but their food has remained good. Of course, it will vary over time and depends on the cooks on duty, but it's generally delicious. Admit it ... it's difficult to get steamed broccoli just right to all palates. Sometimes hard and crunchy, others mushy. BUT, it's take-out Chinese-style food. Don't expect absolute perfection every time. Theyhave coupons on their menu. Use them. As for the low ratings, because of missed items. I don't buy it. It's rare when they miss placing an ordered item in a bag. But, when they do, it's delivered promptly, even if your order was apick-up. We've seen every restaurant in LTC turnover. Remember Emilio's and the place across the street arguing about wood-fired pizza. Followed by Pikes, then Ford's. And then there was Varsity Sports and the French place. The onlyrestaurant surviving is Great China. I'm sure there are other reasons why it persists, but food quality and service are likely two reasons why they're still in business. Your tastes will vary. I like the Singapore Noodles (combo) with itshint of curry and General Tso's chicken. Shrimp spring rolls are a MUST TRY. I don't care for the vegetable spring rolls. The rest of the family likes shrimp or beef with broccoli and the occasional Pad Thai. Pan-fried dumplings are not thebest choice. The Crab Rangoon is hit or miss, but tasty enough to take a chance.
I have been going here since they opened and am addicted to their crab rangoon. Quick service and average priced.
Over time, the food at this restaurant has become too greasy. The dumplings have a thick dough that could make four dumplings out of one. The good news is that they offer Weight Watchers meals. We used to order from here three to four times a month, but now we only go maybe once every three to four months. We keep hoping that the food will become less greasy. The family that owns and runs the restaurant is very nice.
The food was delicious. I placed my order in person, but unfortunately they got it wrong when I picked it up. To make matters worse, they charged me for an extra order of fried rice that I didn't actually request.
I love getting Chinese take-out, but because of my food allergies, it can be risky. Great China took the time to listen to my concerns and advised me on which dishes to avoid on their menu. We have ordered from them several times now and each time the food has been delicious and exactly what we wanted. I am very satisfied with their service and have found a new favorite take-out spot.
