Bidra med feedbackWatching them unwrap a beautifully cooked brisket to slice you meat for your sandwich...priceless! If they have brisket potato soup when you're there...get it. Yummo!
Very good barbeque. We had a half pound each of brisket and pulled pork, side of beans, side of coleslaw, side of Mac and cheese for the little guy. (Wife had the pork on a bun, but I didn't try it. Everything was well-cooked. Nice smoke ring on the brisket and the meat was tender but not overdone. The house made sauces all tasted great, and I recommend the Verde BBQ on the pork! The beans were tasty to me but too spicy for the wife. She wanted a non-spicy option. The coleslaw was among the best I've had from a restaurant, and the Mac and cheese was above average. I do wish the meat itself had more smokiness, or more flavor on it's own, but the sauces completed the dish. I will definitely come back, especially when the weather is nice and enjoy their patio seating. Next time... ribs!
Really nice, up town looking place. They are definitely shooting for the new look of bbq! Great patio area outside. Big family style benches inside, in the back room that is.The pulled pork sandwich which a great size, was nice and tender. A little fatty. The bbq beans were not my style. Seemed almost burnt, dark, and missing stuff . Like chunks of meat, vegetables, etc. Liked the sauce and cups on the table. The side garnish of cold vegetables is a nice touch! Appreciated having to soda fountains. That 's nice! I predict this place will only get better with time!
You will not be disappointed. I had a little bit of everything and it was all vey high quality. The brisket and ribs had wonderful purplish red smoke rings that had good depth into the meat. The brisket was moist from the fatty and lean sides of the brisket. Anybody can get the fatty side tender but it takes a pro to keep the lean side moist, tender and well colored with smoke. The pitmaster obviously knows his brisket. I tried the side of beans which were excellent, thick and spicy. The cole slaw was also very good, but with a little too much dressing for me to grade it as perfect, but delicious enough for me to order it again. They've done a thoughtful job on the layout and outside wood deck under a high steel roofed canopy. It's an attractive bbq destination and feels like a classic. I will be a repeat visitor. The next time I visit I may ask that they cut the brisket a little thicker when served. With brisket this good, I would rather have two thick slices than three thinner pieces in a 1/4 lb serving. That's really getting picky, but for a place that is this good it's worth mentioning.
This place is great! the journey of sioux city worth! we will come back soon! amazing brisket, huh, ripen and they must try the worm!
