The reviews were so wonderful that I booked this as our one special meal for Christmas eve on our trip to Martinique. I called in advance, wired the money in advance, chose the entrees to make it easy for him. We corresponded half a dozen times before to make sure we can accommodate our one vegetarian person, to make sure he has what he needs to make this a special dinner for us. Disclaimer: Maybe my expectations were very high. As everyone says dont follow the GPS when trying to get here. We tried to ask people around but we got lost all the same. We tried to call Wilkat but his limited english skills, the pitch black streets and slippery steps up and down the lanes around made it an ordeal trying to get there. When we get there, there is no one to seat us, no one to get us water.. wilkat even though has spoken to me 5 minutes ago doesnt show up for another 15. We find our own table, get our own glasses and wait for someone to give us water. He confirms our meals and goes over the dietary needs of the vegetarian person. That made me feel better, however when the first course arrives its a family style plate with 4 items, no one to explain what they are. Apparently one item is vegetarian, we find out after 40 minutes of it sitting there and it tastes like flour covered in gray gelatin, really disgusting. Then comes the soup which turns out to be really good. So I see glimpses of a great cook in some of the courses. Now the place is filling up, he had about 20 people now and there is only him and another person, how seems like is only doing the serving. She doesnt speak a word of english so we have to communicate with her using google translate even for another bottle of water. Another serious workflow issue was the the next course wont start till all 20 of them are served their course so we waited a good 40 minutes between courses. As a vegetarian in a french place I didnt expect a spectacular meal, but i expected I will get something with every course. I shouldnt have because he skipped a few courses for me, so I just stared at the rest of the group up almost 2 hours before I could get something to eat. My main course after waiting for 2 hours was just the sides that the rest of the group got times 4. Looked like just a bunch of leftovers. The rest of the group also found the food terrible, my wife's hands got swollen from the amount of salt. My friend wouldnt touch his fish because he said it was gamey. One of the other guys said their dessert was still frozen in the middle. I hope the food gets better on this island, we really havent had good food yet and its day 3. Lots more to explore and see but our main meal at 60 euros per person was a complete let down.

Improbable soirée au Willkat avec Willy. Nous n'étions que 2 ce soir là avec ma femme et nous avions donc le chef pour nous tout seuls. Quel luxe ! Des cocktails aux desserts en passant par les entrées et les plats, tout a été parfait. De plus, les prix pratiqués pour la qualité des mets sont largement justifiés et abordables surtout pour la Martinique. Allez y les yeux fermés.
