The Metz - Launceston

I had a bad experience at The Metz as I was unknowingly served a dish with a sauce containing gluten, despite specifying that I needed a gluten-free option due to being a Coeliac. When I called the restaurant the following day to inquire about the mistake, I was told that the gluten-free version of the dish does not come with any sauce. The owner seemed skeptical of my complaint and implied that I was lying about the sauce being present on my meal. Unfortunately, this incident has made me lose trust in their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions, and I will not be returning to dine at The Metz in the future.

The restaurant has a wonderful and cheerful staff who are always willing to help. I highly recommend trying the margarita pizza, especially with their delicious gluten-free bases. They offer plenty of other gluten-free options, including desserts. The house salad is incredibly tasty, and I have never had a bad reaction to gluten while dining here. Make sure to inform them if you are gluten intolerant.
