Bidra med feedbackWe were coming from SoCal on Thursday, Nov 30 and found this place online. We read about the brisket and decided that 's where we wanted to eat. After braving the I 15 traffic and the bumper to bumper transition to the 215, we arrived at restaurant at 1:45pm, only to find it closed up tighter than a drum, even though the door sign said Open and hours were 11am 9pm. What gives? I guarantee we won 't be back.
Big B’s Texas BBQI really like finding the small local businesses to support and Big B’s Texas BBQ is just one of those places you don’t want to miss. The ribs and brisket were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, moist and tender, nearly falling off the bone as you pick it up and all of the smoked BBQ flavor you could hope for.The green beans were just the way I like them. Cooked to the point where they still have a little snap when you bite them. Not over cooked, limp with all the flavor cooked out like some out of the way road side diner.Cornbread muffins were moist with chunks of corn and real butter to put on them.Cole slaw is always a tricky one. Sometimes made with too much vinegar. Sometimes so much mayo that it is just a sloppy mess. At Big B’s, it is right in the middle. (They have extra mayo and vinegar available if you feel the need to fine tune it to your liking.Fun environment. Plenty of space to sit down. One room if you like a bit of noise and big screen TVs with your favorite sport playing. A second room that is a bit quitter if that is what you prefer. Very child friendly. If you are looking for a great local Texas style BBQ with reasonable pricing and large portions, make sure to support Big B’s.
We ate here on Sunday just after they opened at 11:00 a.m. What a wonderful experience! The menu has plenty of choices, the food is delish, and the atmosphere is casual and clean.I had a brisket meal. The brisket was tender and moist, and was served without sauce. There are choices for sauces, and you add as much as you want. My meal came with two sides. I choose green beans and cornbread. The green beans tasted fresh and were nicely done still bright green and with a bit of a crunch. The cornbread was served as two small muffins. They were moist but not squishy, and included pieces of fresh corn. Delicious! My husband had ribs again served without sauce so he could add what he wanted. His sides were cornbread and coleslaw. The slaw was neither vinegary nor mayonnaisey it was somewhere in the middle. We both liked it even though he is a coleslaw with mayo man while I prefer no mayo. The service was friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. They have seating on the patio, and a variety of table sizes inside mostly long picnic tables and one super huge nearly square picnic table in it's own alcove. There are several TVs showing sports. At this time of day, the lighting mostly comes from the windows, which was nice. The music is low and the TVs aren't loud. This is a place where you can have a real conversation. Not sure how it would be on a busy night, but it was wonderful for a Sunday lunch. We will be back!
Everything was dry and bland. Nothing had any flavor. Better off going to some other bbq place. Especially, with these outrageous prices.
Bad experience. My first visit and would *Never* go back. Brisket was dry; 2 ribs were all fat. Paid $24 for Brisket and 2 ribs. I don't know how this place gets good reviews, much less stay in business.
