Bidra med feedbackHad the menu del dia, normally priced at € 17, but during the first days of the week and probably because out of season, it was reduced to € 10, . Had garlic soup and rabbit, very tasty. Excellent service. Remember this town is the garlic capital of Spain. Try to find Rafael Ramirez, avda. Juan Carlos 1. 15 16 in Las Pedroñeras, about 2 km from the restaurant, to buy them. When I left town and drove around it on the N 301 heading west, I did notice another place where they sold garlic
Just as Rick Stein described it, well worth the detour on the route from Madrid to Alicante. Wonderful garlic soup, partridge salad and solomillo de cerdo. No English spoken but that is so refreshing, real Spain!
Closed down, we went on to Almagro superb village with great restaurants in the square well worth a visit we stayed in the Parador which was fantastic.
Just back from a visit to La Mancha and we followed up Rick Stein's recommendation to eat at the Los Angeles restaurant at Las Pedroneras. We stopped for lunch on the way from Cuenca to Jaen and had the set menu. The Sopa de Ajo (garlic soup) was excellent and the Solomillo de Cerdo was so tender and was served with a delicious sauce. Couldn't manage a dessert despite several tantalising choices. All washed down with a bottle of the excellent local red wine. And just 17 euros each for 3 courses with wine, bread, water and coffee. Amazing value. Superb food produced by a lovely family. Our thanks to Rick for the recommendation it was the best meal we ate during our trip.
