Bidra med feedbackThe tipical restaurant where the owner/main waiter yells at you from the door of the restaurant while you are stralling down the street. He didn 't seem that excited to serve us when we sat down after all. Mojito not one of the best I 've drank on the island; Gin tonic one of the worse we drank. We had tapas as starters and paella for 2. I 'm quite sure Montoliu (the inventor of the paella) was turning in his grave. The paella was overcooked and pre prepared definitely not something you want to try as a typical paella. But the worse is yet to come: when the waitress took the dishes away and asked one more mojito? I replied no, thanks, it would be too much . A minute after that, while my partner was still eating his paella, the waitress brought the bill, without even being asked to do so. A polite way to make us go away since I sad no to the mojito or a simple misunderstanding?
We have been to this restaurant during the day and it has been very good...... so we decided to dine at night. My wife’s fish was excellent and so I hoped my steak would be too. I was surprised to be asked how I liked it cooked ..... medium rare please ...... as I know it’s not always a consideration outside the uk. Beautifully presented but it soon became clear the meat was undercooked to the extent it was blue underneath and in the middle. I sent it back and that’s when things went down hill! It came back and was overcooked. I didn’t want to make a fuss and so continued to eat was a reasonable dish after all apart from the pile of fat and gristle left on the plate. (See picture. What was really poor was the service. The waitress was continuously chatting to a friend of hers on the table next to ours even leaning over to recharge our glasses as she continued to chat with them. When finally the bill arrived there was no acknowledgment that we had to send food back. When I queried this there was lots of Spanish chatter but no offer of any reduction. So I paid the €50+ bill (for 2 main courses and a bottle of wine and left.
This is the second time here in this restaurant and I can't not to order again and again paella here. It is just mouthwatering, flavors are on point and didn't disappoint me this time either. And the waiter gave us complimentary local rum which was a nice finish after delicious lunch.
