Bidra med feedbackOver the past several years, Cavalryman Steakhouse has been very hit or miss ... sometimes very good like a couple months ago, and sometimes very mediocre, like last night. We won't be back anytime soon unless we hear that things have improved. The quality of our steak was not good, and the side dishes were equally not up to par.
Upon making a reservation via OpenTable, we arrived, on time, to find our reservation was given away. Hostess asked if we wouldn't mind waiting, to which, we said no, we had other obligations. After 12 minutes she got us a table. I proceeded to order 3 different glasses of wine because first two were not available. Wife also had a drink choice that was not available. Service was sub par. When I got the check, I have never been asked to tip the kitchen staff as well as service staff, I find this presumptuous.
The food was everything you could want and expect in a steakhouse in cattle county. The service was a little patchy but our waitress, Lena, was tremendous and took great care of us. Great location with a fun back story. Highly recommend giving it a try if you are in Laramie.
The food was amazing. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye steak, medium rare, and they made it correctly the first time! (Pretty uncommon for some places) The sides were amazing. The seafood is usually yummy, but this time, it was slightly over cooked, but still amazing! It did take some time to get our food, BUT, they did have 2 large parties go in before we did. So we anticipated them to take some time. I recommend Calvaryman Steakhouse over Rib and Chop for steaks mainly because you get more food for your buck compared to them AND it tastes a lot better. Calvaryman also has better options for desserts and drinks. This location is great for dates, anniversaries, and other celebrations!
Normally, we LOVE this place! Unfortunately, this visit was not enjoyable. Took over an hour for dinners to be served (seated at 5:00, arrived at 6:11). Perhaps they were short staffed, but very disappointed as we brought out of town guests to our favorite place and left disappointed.
