Matt Reilly's Pub - Lanesborough

So this is under new ownership and haven't been here in many years. Until last night 7-20-2018 with a large group of friends. We sat on the deck over looking Pontuassc lake Honey which the sunset was awesome. But extremely bad customer service and the food was overcooked and disgusting to say the least. And if you go in a large group they refused to break up the checks. As we sat at 3 different tables side by side. And the red headed waitress was extremely unprofessional and inexperienced to do her job. I had to teach her how to break down the checks so they weren't all on the same. And she was clueless how to do it! And everyone got all their food at the same time. Expect for the father of grooms dad who ordered prime rib. We all were half way finished eating before he got his dinner and it wasn't right either! I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone! It's now called the lakeside restaurant!

Matt Reilly's has turned ownership and is now called Lakeside something. I have ordered the lobster roll (being from the NH sea coast I crave lobster) in the past and it's been pretty good. However, I ordered the lobster roll thru takeout. Let's just say that the toasted hotdog roll was so much better than the lobster in it. There was probably two tablespoons of meat, if that. The burgers that my parents ordered were over cooked and dry with no condiments whatsoever. Very disappointed

The view was awesome. The staff was friendly. The food came out shockingly fast and was delicious. I would visit again.

I get being busy in the summer because of the view but I'm so confused as to why this place stays busy in the winter. Started off the experience by being denied being served anything but apps if we sat on the lower porch....uh what. Ok, moving on the waitress hated her job and it showed taking over 20 mins to get us drinks. If you like frozen, over cooked apps..this is the place. Unfortunate, this place could be a gold mine. Don't waist your time, we wont be back.

You come here for the view and for the drinks, but you do not come here for the food. So, lets be positive. The view is awesome. Sitting on the back porch (which is not advised in the winter) and looking at the lake makes you feel like all is well in the world. The extensive drink selection makes it a great place to relax. And, it looked very clean and well taken care of. But, the food is very bland and standard fare. The burgers are unremarkable and the fries are quite greasy. I felt uncomfortable after eating them. The grilled chicken in the chicken dinner was the one item that did not seem to be fried. But, it did taste like a frozen chicken breast that had been microwaved and thrown on a grill. I had peas as a vegetable, but they surely were of the food service variety. So, as long as you know why you are coming here, you can enjoy it. But, this is not really a foodie place. BTW, The inside decor consists mostly of a long bar, television sets and a Lotto machine.
