Lovely hosts and exquisite food. Comfortable and cosy. The menu will startle you. The quality of the fresh ingredients is wonderful. Animal friendly. Just a friendly hotel. Probably dress smartly for Dinner. The bar is well stocked. The hosts will go out of their way to make you stay ver special...Just go to Overwater Hotel. You will go back!

Beautiful night for our anniversary. The lounge and restaurant are beautifully decorated and perfect for an intimate meal. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly without being stuffy. From wine and canapés while perusing the fantastic menu full of local produce to enjoying our meal in the restaurant on an exquisitely set table we had a wonderful night. Just perfect for special occasions or a nice treat.

We enjoyed an absolutely amazing dining experience from the moment we were invited to take a seat in the lounge to leaving to the well wishes from at least three of the serving staff on our way out. The food was simply exceptional; really without fault from the locally sourced ingredients to generous, delightfully crafted and presented portions. At £55 for a three course menu, and with an excellent wine selection, this is one of the best meals out I have had in a very long time and all accompanied with excellent, unobtrusive and ever attentive service. I particularly enjoyed the lady who served my cheese course talk me through all of the very generously portioned varieties of cheese with enthusiasm and warmth. I would highly recommend the Overwater Hall Hotel restaurant, even if it did seem a little off the beaten track on a dark February evening. Wonderful!

Excellent food, service and value. A gem in the Northern Lakeland Fells. Good wine list at reasonable prices. This place has delivered consistently very good main courses desserts for over 20years. Well worth a visit but you need to book !

Top quality ingredients individually prepared and beautifully presented by a kitchen clearly at the top of its game. We ate in the restaurant on two consecutive evenings whilst staying at the lovely hotel. It was good to see that the small, but very well considered menu changed from one night to the other (they don’t everywhere! . We look forward to returning.
