It wasn’t cheap at €112 euros for two people, but many of the restaurants in Lamego were closed the day we visited (Thursday lunchtime) and the few other open restaurants nearby were all jam packed full, so we opted for this one as it had a few tables available and had a pleasant atmosphere inside (all the other diners appeared to be Portuguese). VERDICT; we enjoyed our dining experience here three delicious courses of well prepared and well presented food, accompanied by a bottle of Portuguese sparking wine (Raposeira), half a bottle of local red wine (Quinta Seara a Ordens 2020) , a bottle of sparking water, and two espresso coffees. The waitress who served us was very hospitable throughout the meal, spoke excellent English, explained the dishes on the menu where necessary and was also knowledgable about the wine list.
Ambiente acolhedor, funcionários muito simpáticos, prestáveis e sempre disponíveis com um sorriso nos lábios. Sentimos-nos muito bem acolhidos. Comida excelente, de grande qualidade. Rapidez e eficácia no serviço. Recomendamos vivamente!
Busy waiters outside at lunch. Received the “cover charge” of lovely bread, jamon and cheese before even being able to order anything to drink. Waited for ages to just get a drinks order. Then the menu was oddly removed before we’d ordered food. When we finally got their attention to order food (drinks had arrived and cover finished), we received a different menu with different prices in English… it took an hour for over cooked cod and a simple mixed salad to arrive. Not impressed. Probably our only poor food experience in Portugal and we’ve been here for 4 months…
Being a local I totally agree with other guests on this one,a real Tourist Trap!.. The food is nothing special, but the prices are Ritz style beeing a little exagerated but its pretty close. The bread, olives and butter 15€ really? My cod was floating in olive oil and bread crumbs,I could do a much better job! Asked for House Wine that was mediocre 15€,something you can get at a supermarket for two. The other dishes were kids meals and I have to say that were the best on the table, spaghetti bologna. Learned my lesson, avoid it if you can.
