Espressamente Illy Park Plaza - Lambeth

My daughter and I were spoiled for choice with a wide variety of coffee and a selection of different light meals and snacks at this restaurant.

For my wife and I ordered two hot drinks and two cake pieces. wife came to the floor of her mocha and found a bristle from the dishwasher below! drinks were replaced, the price for drinks for both removed from the bill and on rest of the bill. cheesecake was a little dry. glass water at the arrival was nice touch. attentive staff who was appalled by the woman to find the bristles. huge advertising screen a little distracting.

Worst experience. the lunch menu is very limited and the food content is very small for overpriced eating. not worth it at all. never comes again.

We went to the restaurant for breakfast and ordered the full English. Unfortunately, it arrived cold so we requested for it to be reheated. However, when it was brought back to us, it was still the same temperature. Despite this, we ate it but found it to be the worst breakfast we had ever experienced. The eggs were undercooked, the bacon was fatty, the toast was heavy, and there was more fat than meat on the bacon. I recommend trying another restaurant across the street. The coffee was the only redeeming quality of the meal.

After tasting all these Italian coffee chains (Concerto, Nero, Costa, etc. we must say that Illy is the best, by far. The shops, especially this one at the ground floor of the Park Plaza Hotel, are nice, white and clean. And all the coffee specialities...are delicious, especially ristrettos and machiatos, which clearly show the coffee taste. Croissants and other pastries are also good. Expensive, but more or less same as all the others but with more quality.
