Bidra med feedbackCame here for dinner with my husband tonight. We are visiting here for a weekend getaway decided to try this place out. So glad we did! The food was AMAZING! My husband got the blackened prime rib sandwich which he loved said it was so Tender delicious! I got the steak quesadilla so so good filling! Our waiter Tyler was very attentive kind. Overall great experience.
This is what family owned and operated should look like. Every mountain town needs a Blind Mule. Great food. Friendly service with a personal touch. And cozy atmosphere. Thank you helping us kick off our Thanksgiving weekend in the mountains!
I am saddened by the closure of this wonderful family and their special restaurant. God Bless and Best of Luck in your endeavors..
We made a reservation and when we booked they asked for a credit card and said if we don't show they will charge our card. We ended up having to cancel as we were stuck in traffic. Called two hours prior to our reservation and the owner told us we would be charged 20 a person due to cancellation. We explained it was due to traffic and he was rude and told us he had turned down other possible reservations. I'm frustrated and disappointed. Why would the restaurant not keep a list of people who wanted reservations and call them when a cancellation occurs. Two hours ahead gives them enough time to call other customers. He was unpleasant and told us he wasn't about to lose money. Wow!
When I say this was phenomenal service and food, we couldn't be more pleased. On vacation during covid restrictions makes things a little tricky. We saw the reviews for the Blind Mule and last minute decided to head there ASAP. As we pulled in we noticed the smaller sitting areas outside with beautiful views of Toxaway. The parking looked a little full so we were hesitant even with the possible outdoor seating options. The masked hostess informed us reservations were needed. Then she tucked to the back to see about accommodating us. Soon after the owner came out and with some careful calculations made space for us. We ate inside. The space was spotless. The staff fully masked. The menu a daily fare. As their menu changes with the local availability of produce and meat I still ended up picking the only thing in the menu that is a constant. The crusted trout on cheesy grits and a side of collards. It's a local favorite and we were in the heart of trout country. It was epic!! My husband ended up ordering a pizza that was on the menu for the evening. What he thought would be a personal pizza ended up a pretty healthy medium pie! Boy was it good! I had to have a bite. He finished off half of it (mostly because I wouldn't share my trout) and the other half ended up as a midnight snack and breakfast the next day. This is a place that you must put on your list if you are visiting the area.
