Bidra med feedbackI love it when we find a restaurant that is run by Germans or Polish. The food is always GREAT and a lot of it. You don't need to go anywhere else. And Cindy will take care of you! She's indefatigable.
The breakfast was excellent with friendly and prompt service. The prices were reasonable and the menu had a nice variety. We wished we were staying at the hotel instead of the one we were currently at, as it was much nicer.
I ordered the Reuben sandwich , my wife had the cabbage rolls . Both of the dinners easily made it into the top 3 of the worst food we've ever had in a restaurant . The Reuben was on the 2 smallest pieces of rye bread I've ever seen in a restaurant , the sauerkraut was tasteless and after 2 bites the bottom slices of bread were grease soaked and oozing on my plate . The frozen shoestring fries that came with it were WAY over salted . My wife's cabbage rolls were obviously frozen and just reheated (microwaved) they weren't fully heated through . They neither had the appearance or taste of being home made . They were drizzled on top with some canned sauce . Gravy on the potatoes was something out of a can . The vegetables were heated on the outside , but raw . The service was adequate , but this experience left us feeling like we never want to eat in a restaurant again . Horrid !
This resort is such a great value! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a king room which was very clean and well maintained. The view of the lake is stunning with beautiful gardens and nice Muskoka chairs to sit on and watch the sunrises/sunsets. Free canoe and kayak rentals are also included and if you get out there early enough, you will get a chance to see the mist coming off of the small private lake and you might even catch a perch or a bass if you're wanting to fish. The restaurant is nice and has reasonable prices and good food. You can also get an Algonquin visitors pass at a discounted rate of $10 a day. This resort is right by the west gate in Algonquin and there are lots of hiking trails in the vacinity ranging from 20 minutes away to 45 minutes from the resort. We thought it was a great central location for the price.
Their homemade polish meals are soooo good:)) The place is accessible to parks , falls and beaches, The room is clean, neat and equipt with basic needs of travellers...
