The Local - Lake Jackson

Sounds like the service was hit or not. My wife and my experience were nothing but brilliant. Our server was sweet and very helpful. Margarita and Manhattan were both stellar. We were under time constraints like I was at the LJ Civic Center this evening, and the kitchen knocked it out of the park. Wife ordered the Mac Cheese and I had the Chicken Artichokes. We ordered us when we had set ourselves and had our food in 10 minutes! The Mac cheese was absolutely incredible. Cheese sauce was a perfect béschamel with the right amount of cheese. Not too thick, not too thin, right. The addition of the apple tree bacon and the Pablo bread crumbs put it on top! Our eyes were wide when we saw the size of the portion, but it wasn't a bit left until we were finished! The chicken table-hockey dish was also excellent. The chicken was moist and very tasteful. Perfectly seasoned, with exactly the right amount of crispy from light bread. The star of this plate were the two small risotto cakes served under the Balsamico tomatoes. M. G! I traveled to some of the best restaurants in the world, and this Risotto is the best I had anywhere. The herbal notes in season really came through, and added a great depth to the dish when complimented by the white wine and caper sauce. All in all, The Local knocked us off the feet, and we will be sure to be back when we are next to Lake Jackson.

The place is my favorite place to eat. So, of course, I wanted for my wedding!! We had the fried green tomatoes, signature salad, pork juice, and sun-dried tomatoes basil chicken!!! With Mac and cheese and green beans for pages. It was AMAZING!!! Gaye has such an amazing job!!! Fed bride= happy bride!!

The place is a local treasure. Large menu, atmosphere, coffee, bar...
