Chart House - Lake Charles

We have never been to the country club. we had a wonderful meal. the country club is really nice.

Started with drinks in the bar. Bartender was snarky and full of himself. Once seated for dining, waited at least 20 minutes for a server. Finally had to go back to hostess and she went and found him somewhere in the back. Food was marginal. Salad was dry and oysters small and chewy. Hopefully just a bad night. We’ve been before and had better experiences than this trip. Would hate to see it go downhill.

Pleasant evening, food was fresh, generous portions, prepared as requested. Excellent prime rib, tender with great flavor. Attentive service. Nice atmosphere, lights could have been dimmed for evening dining. Very nice wine list. Looking forward to a return trip soon!

I ordered grilled mahi as my entrée. When brought to table it smelled fishy and was way over cooked and dry/tough. As the new manager was making rounds, stopped and asked how was everything? My response, Everything was good except fish plate. He said, Well, I guess 2 out of three things are good. When the bill arrived he charged me for the fish. I did not want to argue with him so I told my wife, Lets just go. He greeted me on way out and asked, No dessert today? I replied, No thanks, after what the fish was! I guess the restaurant must really be struggling. A chef would NOT have sent fish out over cooked.

Service was 10/10, good and vibes match as well. I would recommend
