Hula Grill & Barefoot Bar - Lahaina

Had the waffles with maple syrup and the waffles were over boiled and hard. ahornsirup was actually more regular sirup that was terrible. had the avocado toast without the ei and speck. it didn't taste good. bad quality and I've eaten better. this is not a vegan spot, so I understand that eating not to me, but how can they screw up a waffel. the best was pineapple juice updated by previous review on 2021-04-22

Hula grill, located on the beach of kaanapali, has a beautiful atmosphere with live music. note that reservations are not required, but I strongly recommend that they reserve 1 2 days in advance. Otherwise they can wait for 1 2 hours if they accept walk-ins. the service is very good, waiting staff very friendly. the vegan options are few. I had a vegan vegetarian/taro burger and substituted a small salad for fries (why costs the $3 extra the burger was tasty, but also a bit muddy. the kaboocha hummus was good/average, served with colorful carrots and pita brot. this is not a value game that the food is expensive.

The hula grill is the quintessential hawaiian beach restaurant with Tiki torches, tables in the sand, live Hawaiian music and views of the neighboring island lanai. they have a vegan miso tofu with sweet and quinoa on the menu that was excellent and very full. they have a vegan burger, but unfortunately the fries are cooked in a common frit. the “vegan” dessert is not vegan because it contains honey. a beautiful choice during the holiday in maui.

The staff is so kind and accommodating if your vegan. Just tell them. They have an awesome vegan burger, but skip the aioli sauce (not vegan)

Very nice place. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what was and wasn't vegan, even though it wasn't marked. Lots of vegetable options including a skewer and salads, they also have a tofu dish. They have an allergen menu if you ask.
