By explaining that we wanted something without eggs but with many vegetables they were able to make a vegan fried rice with tiny bits of vegetables.
My son has asked that I give beyond a 5 star review, but alas I cannot. Fantastic vegan options, the lady working here spoke really good English and made us some fried rice without egg. Was yum-o
My sohn asked me to give a five-star rating, but unfortunately I can't. fantastic vegan options that dame works here spoke really good English and made us some fried rice without any ice.
As there are hardly any vegetarian options in the restaurants in lahad datu, this was a dream. my friend and I ate here 3 times during our stay, because eating was so good and there were really not many other restaurants with veg options in the city. each time we chose 4-5 dishes from the buffet and tee. this included some fake meat/tofu, mushrooms and green dishes. everything was incredibly good and cheap. we were just as stop to the danum valley field centre, so it is also conveniently located near the DVFC office and the airport. when we visited, the menu was only Chinese, so we only had to point out what we wanted. if they don't speak English, they will understand. Otherwise, everything else is 100% vegan. I recommend this place definitiw!
I discovered this place a few days ago from the bus and hotfused it there to check the food. menus available in English/Chinese languages and there is a good selection of things to do. I only saw the buffet after I had already refined it on the mock duck and ordered some veggie spring rolls while my friend had a satay tempeh nudel dish. the food was delicious and excellent. my non-veggie friend also enjoyed his eating! a welcome fund in a small but pleasant city in the east sabah. if you find the danum valley field centre office (borneo nature tours office is next door) in the Fajar complex, it is about 2-3 roads behind this, away from the airport. there is a 100y shop on the street that sells delicious desserts veggie, but probably not vegan.
