Very average food, unfriendly service, wine cheap but cheerful. Was my first day in Lisbon, ordered sardines, were ok. learned later that sardine season is July to October so they would have been in the freezer for at least 6 months.
Been here a few ties. The food authentic local piri-piri, the fried Piri-Piri chicken is yum (nice zip but not too hot- plenty of garlic, EVOO and Italian parsley). Good service but if you go at lunch watch out for the local Rotory/Lion/Elks groups or bus-tours being there too. They can slow thing down an awful lot.
Negative waited over 2 hours to receive our food, even though the restaurant only was half full, no information about the meals already containing chips and salad, so landed up buying portions that were not needed and had to pay for them even though as soon as the food finally arrived, we said the food was double ordered they took the extra portions back untouched that is before leaving them on the table but charged us. No staff available only one middle age lady trying to reach all tables. To make matters worse there was a table of about 6 to 8 guys that were so loud mouthed that it felt we were dining in a drunken pub, very bad night out dinner with the family at one stage I even jumped from my chair with the fright of the noise. We could early communicate because of this table but no orientation from one staff member working, the boss manager was useless don't care attitude for clients. So much for taking the family out for a Piri Piri chicken experience.
